Here is how the Embed project started and where it’s heading. We are excited and are inviting you to tag along.
Let’s be honest, it all started because some hotel rooms don’t have windows.
The lack of windows can be seen as a disadvantage. We see a blank canvas waiting to be filled with experiences. By using tech and creativity we want to turn the walls, the ceiling and maybe even the floor into a canvas you can put anything into – limited only by imagination.
An open platform
We are building an open platform where anyone can chip in.
From global brands to cultural institutions.
From video game companies to indie developers.
From artists to design students.
The content is to be owned by the creators themselves and our goal is to build a fair infrastructure for content distribution.
This concerns both themes and technology. It should be easy to create, submit and receive feedback. The best experiences stay and the worst leave. This is not an “in-flight magazine”, but a fast-paced marketplace. Think of it as a kind of app-store made specifically for dark rooms.
The prototyping stage of the project takes place at HOBO hotel in Stockholm. This stage will be a playground for everyone to explore the possibilities and to simply have fun.
The vision is to expand to more hotels, public spaces, and even private spaces.
